Sadly, Slovenia lost their rematch with the US Men's National Soccer team 2-3 on a chilly and foggy Tuesday evening in Ljubljana.

After their thrilling draw in the group round of the 2010 World Cup, the USA Men's National Team will have a friendly rematch with Slovenia on 15 November (12:00 PM EST) in Ljubljana.

The date of the next general business meeting for Club Slovenia has been changed from Tuesday, November 1, 2011 to Friday November 4, 2011.  This is a very important meeting as nominations of officers for 2012 will be accepted.  Plans for the upcoming Christmas party in December and langauge classes that will start in January will also be discussed.  The meeting will start at 6:30 PM on Friday, November 4th.

Honorary Consul Tom Brandi will be hosting a First Annual Slovenian Film Night on November 4 at 7:30 in the Slovenian Hall.  The film will be introduced by Vera Mijolic of the South East European Film Festival/L.A. (www.seefilmla.org).  Due to limited seating please RSVP to tjb@brandilaw.com.

Beginning at the upcoming 83rd Annual Grape Festival, registration will open for the 2012 Slovene language program.  Targeted to beginners and those wishing to refresh their skills, the 2 11-week terms focus on everyday speaking and practical grammar.  Instruction provided by Club Slovenia member Mia Roda, Senior Librarian Emerita at Stanford University and native of Slovenia.
